Golf
Nestled against a pristine lake just outside Mobile, Steelwood was designed by 1976 U.S. Open Champion Jerry Pate. Despite the flat topography of the region, Pate created numerous elevation changes and fairway undulations to challenge players. The course opens with several holes along Steelwood Lake and then heads into a more heavily wooded area before returning to the lakeside to close an 18-hole golf course designed by former U.S. Open Champion Jerry Pate. Stretching more than 7,100 yards, this award-winning championship golf course meanders through rolling hills, dense hardwood forests and natural wetlands. More than one third of the course offers panoramic views of Steelwood Lake including the 18th hole.
